Can someone advice on the route for my upcoming UK trip?

I am planning a tour of UK this coming May. The plan goes like this:

Spend 3 full days in London, then visit Greenwich Line and Cambridge University and Lake District before moving onwards to Scotland for a 2 full-day tour of Edinburgh and Inverness.

I need suggestions on the travel modes for my visits to Greenwich, Cambridge and Lake District. Hopefully these can be accomplished within 1 day or 2 days max.

I really think you’re trying to pack too much into too short a time … so much so that you will spend all your time traveling and not enough time really seeing places … I’d suggest you cut down your itinerary a bit, do fewer places, and give yourself a chance to actually see something … London and Greenwich are fine, and so is Cambridge as they are not too far from each other … I’d cut out the Lake District as although it’s beautiful there you would need a car to get around, it’s all narrow country roads that take time to negotiate, and you’d need several days to do it justice … I would suggest you decide spend the 2 days in Scotland in Edinburgh and maybe not go to Inverness, Edinburgh is a great city with loads to see and the journey up to Inverness would take a fair amount of time

there are several ways to get to Edinburgh … the quickest is by plane, for instance Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com/asp/en/book/index.asp … you could also use the train but it is a long journey
