Holiday in Canada…?

Hi… I’m planning a huge holiday in canada over the summer… One thing i would love to do is rent or buy a car/motorbike and travel across british columbia, or do a tour of the lakes… I have a full UK license for both, the only problem is that i’m a UK national and only 19 years old…
Is there anywhere in canada who will rent to under 21s?
If i was to buy a vehicle how would i go about getting insured?
Is it compulsory to be insured in canada? (it is in England)

Finally, if all of the above is impossible, Does anyone have any recommendations for good train routes around canada? I’m a photographer and would like to see some nice scenery…

Thank you very much for your help, Marco

first an adult in canada is 18!!! ^^^ 19 is to buy tobaco and alcohol is SOME provinces…..

yes a train cross country is possible but your looking at about two thousand dollards with food and a little cot (bed) in a shared cabin…. 3500 for a small private cabin… 5000-7000 for a luxurious cabin.
but the rails don’t go north, they are strictly east-west because of all the snow related hazards on the tracks….

you can not rent a car unless your over 25 because the rental insurance companies wont cover you…. and you need an address to get insurance, but if you can have your current insurance even though in the uk, fax you an insurance slip here in canada with the info for your new vehicle on it it will be accepted by our officials. car dealerships require certain info you will not be able to provide so buy privately and go to the ministry yourself they have the ability to accomodate your alien status.

well i did my best to give you the essential and cut the extra, my simplicity deserves a b.a. oh and i corrected that fools bullsheet about 19 an adult….

and to guarantee the b.a. i’ll tell you the best places to get some shots, algonquin park has lots of wildlife and so does churchill ontario, be very carefull, polarbears pop out of nowhere up there!!!
ottawa and kingston have alot of old architecture and monuments, (on the rideau river the is a spot here in ottawa where people 100′s of years ago piled a bunch of stones up to form ?inooktooks?(stone men you see in native literature) there is a train that goes to blue-sea lake that traverses the gatineau hills its an old steam engine used for tourist purposes but isn’t doing so well cause they have no advertising going on…. and the cliffs along the atlantic are insane, i almost fell into a 100 foot crevasse only 1.5 foot wide when i was a kid, my mom caught me by the arm just in time so save my life, tide was coming in and woulda killed me damn quick….

if flora is your thing go just north east of toronto into the golden triangle, everything grows there and if you want bugs go to val-des-bois, quebec some of the weirdest, nicest, most colourfull bugs in the world, imagine a mantis that was red and orange, like a flame decaled orange hotrod…. yeah i seen one of those, they are only about 2cm long but to grab a shot of that on an ivy leaf would simply spell wicked.
