Tour Bangkok Angkor Wat

Going backpacking in Thailand, wondering what to bring?
We’ll be going to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Angkor Wat, then over to Bangkok — northern Thailand tour, and finally off to Kuala Lumpur. It’ll be 3 weeks altogether, and we’re leaving in 2 weeks.
I’m mostly worried about footwear and other clothes. I can’t take much stuff. What should I bring to wear?
When people say backpacking to me I think sleeping outdoors, building a campfire etc… but In Thailand some people call backpacking staying in hotels and carrying there luggage on there back. It kind of makes a difference on what to bring and wear.
Are you walking (Trekking) or just traveling with backpacks?
I assume because of the amount of travel you won’t be Trekking but if I’m wrong don’t beat me up too much I’m just trying to give you information.
I would purchase a good sturdy pair of walking sandals, the kind with a heel strap. Most places you’ll be able to find laundries very cheap but they can take upto two days to get your clothes back because they line dry most of the time.
You can buy sports type clothes (Tshirts and shorts) very cheap everywhere and I wouldn’t bring anything fancy.
So maybe 4 tees 2-3 shorts and 1 long pair of pants. Maybe a light waterproof jacket. If your going to be out, I’d carry a trashbag big enough to use as a poncho and if your bag isn’t waterproof and you’ll be out walking with your bag I’d look for a waterproof liner or again use a trashbag. In fact you can’t go wrong with trashbags, they can be used to keep your dirty clothes separated from the clean and they are very light weight.
I’d also get a brimmed hat as the sun is pretty strong and sunblock and some mosquito repellent.
