trafalgar tours
We need advice for travel to Europe for 2 weeks around Aug 1, 2009.?

Places we definitely want to see are Paris, Venice, Pompeii, Rome, and Pisa. We would like to go to other countries if time allows to experience more. We have 2 children, age 12 & 15 and want them to experience as much of Europe as possible. We are limited to 14 days around August 1, 2009. I have looked at tours with Globus and Trafalgar, but neither seem to have anything that includes both Pompeii and Paris. We have never traveled to Europe.

I don’t know that I would try and cram so much into two weeks, and it’s much harder to rush like that with a larger group and especially with children. I would sit down and have family planning events, talk about things everyone would like to see and try and narrow it down. The more places you go, the more traveling there is, the less time to enjoy, the more exhausted you are.

Some ideas might be to head to London. There is tons to see in london, easy to spend a whole week there, You could then pop up to edinburgh which is a beautiful city. And you could also take the chunnel to Paris which is another awesome city. I feel like that would be a healthy approach to two weeks. You might also consider hopping around Italy, maybe going to Pompeii, Rome, and Venice.

I just don’t think you’ll get as much from it if you try and cram an insane amount of stuff into two weeks. I’m trying to do a europe trip in 2 months and I’m still worried I’m going to get too much in too little time. You aren’t going to see everything in one trip, you just want to enjoy what you do see.
