Does my hallmate really regard me as his friend ? Give your opinion?

Does my hallmate really regard me as his friend ? Give your opinion?
I am an undergraduate student in Australia. I am living in halls of residence. The winter break is approaching . I asked my hallmate if they are interested in travelling after exams. However, he said angrily. ” How do I know ? Where the hell do you wanna go ? ” The next day, he said he has booked a package tour to Brisbane with 3 other hallmates.

I felt sad because I always lend him my stationery, printer, paper, frying pan , laptop , mobile phone ( when he asked me and said he needs them ) . He always says I help him a lot in the hall of residence. Even once he said I have been the most helpful person to him while living in halls

My question : Is he using me ?
Also I feel sad because I treat him well but he treats me badly in return. What should I do ?

Sadly, it’s entirely possible that he’s using you. Although he may not know it. It sounds like the way he answered your question was rude which makes me think he doesn’t realize you consider him a friend. You can get a sense of what he’s like from the way he is with his close friends. Is he normally a jerk to them? If he is, then you’re lucky that you don’t have to travel anywhere with him. If he seems like a good guy though, he may have accidently overlooked you. And the least favorable situation is that he just didn’t want to invite you. It may not be anything personal against you, but he has the right to choose his friends and travel companions. If you really feel he took advantage of you though, make sure to be less helpful after winter break. Sometimes it’s hard not to be helpful, since you’re nice enough to do it on instinct. But he doesn’t deserve your generosity so you shouldn’t offer it. And if he does ever need your help, make sure he asks and let him know that he owes you.
