Travel Tours To Italy Rome
We want to do a bicycle tour in Italy but they all seem to be to long and too expensive. Any suggestions?
We are planning a trip to Europe for next summer and we really want to do a bicycle tour. We are planning on traveling for two weeks and spending most, if not all, of our time in Italy. I’ve found plenty of bike tour sites but they all have tours that are either 1 day or 7+ days (too long since we want to do Rome and Florence too) and most of them are like $2000+ because they put you up in a 4 or 5 star hotel!! We’re not that pretencious. We really would like to find something for 3-4 days that is cheaper a few hundred per person and we’d prefer camping. Any suggestions of where to look?
do it own your own. all of europe and italy too has very nice train system. bycicles are allowed in trains. so, why you not just rent a bike (or bring your own) and then go for a while by bike, a little bit by train, then bike again and so on. like this you can travel also to rome and florence and keep the bikes with you. cheap accomodation is easy to find. always just stop at small restaurant and ask who offer cheap rooms nearby. it works great. i’m german, my husband is american and we were backpacking throughout italy and always find a nice place to stay and kept going, when we have seen enough. just we did all by trains, didn’t use bikes. but nothing to see not to take a bike along.
