Fake car insurance claims, for injuries and car damage?
Hi, recently I accidentally tapped the back of someones car while in traffic just before a roundabout, I must have been travelling around 0.5mph as I was just edging forward. It slightly scratched the other persons bumper, no dent, this was the only damage and the driver was 100% fine.
He has now claimed for £800 worth of damage to the car, saying he needed a new bumper, paint job and also for the inside of his boot that was somehow dented. To top this off, he is now claiming for injuries.
My insurance company say there is nothing they can do about this, as I have no evidence that he is making false claims, surely there is something I can do, he shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this.
Needless to say that I will pay for this by my insurance going up in price for the next few years until the claim is erased from my account.
I don’t understand, wasn’t it ‘innocent until proven guilty’? If this person claims an injury you go to this person and give them an injury, at least then they might be able to tell the truth.
